The story behind this project
Why this project exists, who it helps, and how your support makes a difference

Medical equipment should not be shipped simply because it is available. A useful donation begins with hospitals describing what they need, which infrastructure they have and who will operate and maintain each device.
Dr. Eden Ssettabi will receive the approved shipment in Uganda and coordinate its distribution. He will work with participating hospitals to document their needs and arrange each handover. This gives the project one named point of responsibility in Uganda while allowing suitable equipment to reach more than one hospital with a recorded need.
Offers from hospitals across Germany will be checked against those requests. Only equipment that is functional, sufficiently complete and suitable for a recipient hospital’s technical environment will move forward. Each accepted device will be recorded before collection and again at handover.
The €5,000 goal is fully allocated: €1,900 for collection and temporary storage in Germany, €3,000 for packing and international shipping to Uganda, and €100 for essential Kiwa-Projects operating costs such as web hosting, the database and digital administration. These are transparent planning caps. Freight costs depend on dimensions, weight, route and handling, so written quotations and the final shipment plan will be published before we commit funds to transport. Actual income and spending will be entered in the public project ledger.
Before shipping, we will clarify import and regulatory responsibilities, installation, user training, maintenance, spare parts and eventual disposal with Dr. Eden Ssettabi, the recipient hospitals and the relevant authorities. The page is public during this preparation phase so supporters can see what is confirmed, what remains open and how the plan develops. Supporters can use bank transfer and, when the online option is shown on the project page, secure one-time Stripe Checkout.
Transparency & responsibility We are committed to full transparency. All donations and expenses are published openly so you can see exactly how funds are used.
