Donation, refund, and project policy
Version: 31 July 2026
1. Voluntary donations
Donations to Kiwanuka e.V. through Kiwa-Projects are voluntary contributions to its charitable work. They are not purchases: donors do not receive goods or services in return. We currently offer one-time donations only, not subscriptions or recurring payments.
2. Use of donations
Project-specific donations are assigned to the selected project. The published expenditure plan explains the intended use, while actual income and spending are recorded in the project ledger. Planning amounts are not supplier quotations where the project page identifies them as such.
Every published project budget identifies 2% for essential Kiwa-Projects operating costs, particularly web hosting, the database, digital tools, and project administration. The remaining 98% is allocated to direct project work. The 2% allocation is visible in each projectâs expenditure plan; actual costs are entered in the public ledger only when they are incurred.
Online donations require a name and email address for payment reconciliation and confirmation, but no user account. Before payment, donors choose whether their name or âAnonymousâ appears in the public ledger. An optional message is displayed publicly beside the donation. Messages containing unlawful, abusive, sensitive, or personal information may be hidden without deleting the accounting record.
3. Errors, duplicate payments, and refunds
A completed one-time donation cannot be cancelled like an ongoing subscription. If a donation was made in error, duplicated, unauthorized, or otherwise problematic, contact info@kiwa-projects.org as soon as possible. Include the date, amount, and email address used for the payment, but do not send full card or bank details. We review each request individually and issue a refund where required by law or appropriate after review. Refunds are normally returned to the original payment method.
4. Project changes
Project plans may change when quotations, permissions, delivery routes, or needs differ from the plan. Material changes will be explained on the project page. If a project cannot proceed as described, Kiwanuka e.V. will use the designated funds only for the closest practicable charitable purpose and report the decision transparently. Donors may contact us with concerns.
5. No delivery of goods to donors
Kiwa-Projects does not sell physical goods through this website, so no shipping, return, or exchange policy applies to donors. Where a project procures or transports goods for charitable purposes, the checks, import responsibilities, and handover steps are described on that projectâs page.
